What is a guarantor?
When renting accommodation in a student residence, a guarantor is usually required. A guarantor is a person (a parent, relative or organisation) who undertakes to pay the rent and/or service charges and/or cover any damage caused by the tenant should they fail to meet their obligations. They must sign a joint guarantee agreement and will be named as a party to the tenancy agreement.
This guarantee provides security for the hall of residence manager, whilst making it easier for students without sufficient income to access accommodation. The guarantor must therefore demonstrate a stable financial situation and provide various documents (proof of identity, proof of income, tax assessment notices, etc.).
At Nomad Campus, having a guarantor is mandatory when you make your booking and submit your application. Furthermore, you may provide up to two guarantors for your application.
If you are an international student, please do not hesitate to contact the residence of your choice directly to find out the specific terms and conditions.
I don’t have a guarantor; what should I do?
You can use our partner, Garant Me.
Garant Me is an organisation that acts as your guarantor and can help you secure accommodation if you do not have a guarantor.
